
CSA Demonstrates Leadership in Disaster Preparedness and Resilient Infrastructure
New York, NY — 06/08/2025 — CSA is proud to announce Thomas “Tom” Lewis, PE, JD, Senior Vice President for Utilities and Federal Markets, was selected to participate in the prestigious Global Workshop “From Perceptions to Saving Lives: Using Data to Improve Early Warning Systems.” Organized by the International Coalition for Sustainable Infrastructure (ICSI) and University College London (UCL), this exclusive, invitation-only event convened fewer than 20 internationally recognized subject matter experts. Tom Lewis’s participation is a testament to both his expertise and CSA’s leadership in advancing resilient infrastructure and disaster preparedness worldwide.
The workshop focused on enhancing early warning systems on a global scale—an essential aspect of emergency management and resilient infrastructure in today’s rapidly changing environment. Key topics included strengthening public warning capabilities and addressing gaps identified by leading disaster management research. Leveraging data from the World Risk Poll and insights from the “From Perceptions to Saving Lives” project (funded by Lloyd’s Register Foundation), participants examined the factors that influence trust, communication preferences, and preparedness at the individual and household levels—critical considerations for the energy, water, transportation, and facilities sectors.
